Time-honoured traditions are jealously guarded here...

Nature-lovers will find much to enjoy, in the region’s outstanding flora and fauna… As for the human inhabitants, they love their region and all the creatures which have chosen to live there, with a fierce passion.

This area can be reached on horseback, by bike or by safari in 4X4 vehicles, organised by the Centre du Scamandre whose guides will tell you about the rich bird-life of the area, notably the legendary pink flamingos that have made their home in the lagoons, the salt marshes and the “sansouires”, plains of rough scrubland, characteristic landscapes of this area, born of the conflict between sand and water.

Nearby lies the Rhône delta which lovingly enfolds the Camargue, You will be dazzled by the medieval citadel of Aigues-Mortes, witness to a very eventful history. The well preserved battlements testify to a rich heritage that has been well preserved.
